Google announced the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL at its Made by Google event on August 20. Pre-orders are open now, with deliveries starting August 28.

Tensor G5: Google's biggest chip upgrade yet

The new Tensor G5 is built by TSMC on a 3nm process, a switch from the Samsung-made chips in earlier Pixels. Google says it brings a 34% faster CPU and a 60% more powerful TPU for on-device AI.

Pixelsnap: magnets built in

Every Pixel 10 model now supports Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, which Google calls Pixelsnap. That means MagSafe-style chargers, stands, and wallets work without a special case.

  • Pixel 10 and 10 Pro: 15W wireless
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL: 25W wireless

A telephoto for everyone

For the first time, the base Pixel 10 gets a telephoto lens. The Pro models add 100x Pro Res Zoom, which uses AI to sharpen long-range shots.

New AI features

  • Magic Cue: surfaces relevant info from your apps during calls and chats, like a flight confirmation when someone asks about your trip
  • Auto Best Take: automatically combines group shots so everyone is smiling
  • Voice Translate: translates phone calls in real time while keeping the sound of your own voice

Pricing

Model Starting price
Pixel 10 (128GB) $799
Pixel 10 Pro (128GB) $999
Pixel 10 Pro XL (256GB) $1,199

All three get seven years of OS and security updates.

Colors

  • Pixel 10: Indigo, Frost, Lemongrass, Obsidian
  • Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL: Moonstone, Jade, Porcelain, Obsidian

The takeaway

The Pixel 10 closes some long-standing gaps. A telephoto on the base model and built-in magnets make it a much stronger alternative to the iPhone, and the new chip addresses years of complaints about heat and efficiency.
